Learning is delicious!

Wouldn’t it be great if your children jumped out of bed excited for homeschool? If they could hear not just the facts of history, but the story that connects it to their own lives? If your children could follow their passions and cover all the bases for education without giving your entire life to lessons?

Children are born with a hunger to learn. That hunger can get tamped out at school. Even homeschool can fall into a rut sometimes, making lessons feel like a chore.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

Hungry Homeschool’s mission is to make learning exciting again without sacrificing rigor or overburdening the homeschool parent. Hungry Homeschool is a literature and project-based curriculum that entices students to actively engage in their lessons by making them fun. Wonderful books serve as the backbone of this curriculum, which also interlaces recipes, projects, experiments, movies, and unexpected activities to inspire every learner.

Our curriculum is based on the trifecta of learning: curiosity, engagement, and retention. We pick a fun topic and follow that thread through history, science, and literature.

From Ancient Mesoamerica to modern corporate warfare, chocolate has played a fascinating role in history. Following the trail of chocolate is an enticing way to spark student’s interest in world events. Our everything-but-math curriculum is flexible and customizable. It is open and go, requiring only minimal prep work for the parent.

Public school made my kids hate learning. At first we tried traditional homeschool materials and they flopped. My son didn’t want to do any work and it was a daily battle. I tried The History of Chocolate as a last ditch effort. It was night and day. He said this wasn’t really school, because it was fun. He learned so much about history and he actually liked the stories. I’m so grateful we found this. Homeschool should be different from public school and this curriculum does that. It’s fun and kids learn a lot.

My daughter started a real chocolate chip cookie business as a part of her high school project. She now earns $800 a month! She’s absolutely thrilled to have a chance to learn something “real” (her word). It’s amazing watching her get excited about learning again.

The chocolate party at the end was so much fun. Our kids loved showing off all they learned and baking treats for their grandparents. They had been skeptical about homeschooling, but had to admit, the kids’ projects were impressive. Win!

We are a family of 8, spanning 3-17. It’s hard to get the older and younger kids together. We got the bundle, so my high schoolers could work at their level and I worked with the littles. It was great coming together for the food (so yummy!) and movies. It was cool that they had something in common to talk about at dinner.
